Your quest and curiosity brought you here. You made it, to Gifted Professionals and Communicators.
We’ve been expecting you and love that you signed up for this newsletter.
Everything in life and work seems to be one big experiment after the next. That’s how we learn and find each other—by letting our curiosity overcome our ego. If we let our imagination take over, just briefly and think that maybe you have something you can teach me today, then I stop worrying about whether or not you like this newsletter.
I’m excited to start sharing the secrets, better questions, and intensely practical gems from my 40 years of writing, consulting, and turning CEO wishes into actions. While my current creative projects are the online community for Gifted Professionals and Communicators and 1:1 Deep Think Consulting, I think Substack is the perfect place to share the treasure chest of Much Better Questions and pointers I’ve collected and have seen actually work.
Our time together on Substack is an experiment.
Is this going to be the best 15 minutes of your week? Is this going to become the most shared newsletter ever, because it has the best questions and insights? Will you become a regular voice and person we all want to know better because of your comments? Not just “likes” but something that shows the real you and your hidden genius?
I’ve been writing on the internet since 2005. My first blog was part of an innovative team blogging experiment put together by John Jantsch, Duct Tape Marketing. He auditioned hundreds of writers and chose nine to form a team with him to cover 10 topics hot for entrepreneurs, founders of smaller businesses, and their customers. It worked and it was the number one blog three years in a row. Then it stopped and we all kept writing, in our own voice and for our own brands and clients.
Since then I’ve written newsletters and blogs as the premier ghostwriter for hundreds of professional associations and industry magazines. Making time for my own newsletter and blog for my company, The Communicators, took the back seat, for too long.
Along comes Substack and the global pandemic.
Everything changed. I reinvented the business, reinvented me, and shifted all attention to the people who seemed to have the most to say and seemed to be doing the best work in the world—gifted professionals and communicators.
To say this was a long time coming doesn’t cover the gap between 2005, the first weekly blog plus years of considerting the value of a daily online presence, and the 2023 launch of my website, blog, and newsletter for Gifted Professionals and Communicators.
For the time being, I’ve decided not to paywall my work here. Thank you to everyone who pledged subscriptions! Until I figure out the pace and your expectations for my writing, I’m going to keep everything open to all. You can help by following along as a subscriber, sending me your questions and writing ideas, plus spreading the word.
Thank you! I’m really starting to like it here.
Welcome, Georgia. Here's to curiosity overcoming the Ego.
